Media Member Alert:
There are some exciting changes on the Delaware Waterfront this summer, our 25th season of presenting great events on the Great Plaza! Not only will the Delaware Waterfront host fantastic events for the whole family, but the new state-of-the-art RiverStage at Penn’s Landing will make the experience better than ever. This jam-packed summer season features free events every weekend from May through September, including outstanding free concerts, eleven different multicultural festivals, large screen outdoor movies, SEVEN fabulous fireworks displays, signature family programming and marquee talent.
This season also offers spectacular concerts on the new RiverStage at Penn’s Landing featuring smooth jazz, gospel, Doo Wop, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the return of Fam Jams!, a concert event especially for families and children. Funded by the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, the new RiverStage features an incredible digital sound system and an intelligent lighting package. The new stage was designed to accommodate everything from the demands of the Philadelphia Orchestra to the numerous rock concert shows on this season’s schedule. The stage also features a new rear-projection screen system for the Screenings Under the Stars outdoor film series.
Public Programming at Penn's Landing would not be possible without the continued support of corporate partners such as PECO, Verizon, Pennsylvania Lottery, Live Nation, the Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Company and the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation, all of whom are committed to serving the Greater Philadelphia community. The 2010 Summer Program of Free Events at Penn’s Landing is funded and produced by the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC). All events produced by DRWC are FREE to the public on the Great Plaza, the heart of Penn's Landing, Philadelphia’s premier Delaware River waterfront entertainment destination. The DRWC is a nonprofit corporation created in January 2009, exclusively for the benefit of the City of Philadelphia and its citizens. The fundamental purpose of DRWC is to design, develop and manage the central Delaware River waterfront in Philadelphia. DRWC intends to transform the waterfront into a vibrant destination location for recreational, cultural, and commercial activities for the residents and visitors of Philadelphia.
